My process is digital cut and paste using Adobe apps and storage, an iPad, and a couple cups of coffee. I don’t sleep well, so I’m usually awake in the dark, early morning hours. I use Photoshop Mix, mostly, but I also create backgrounds using Fresco or Draw, which may be further edited using Photoshop Express. Some pieces are inspired by artists whose work I follow or a piece of music, while others are created almost accidentally. Often, I will start with one photo, cut it down by either painstakingly smoothing out the images outline pixel by pixel, or by using the “smart/subtract” option, which gives images a messy, raw, jagged look. I tend to be more attracted to the imperfections the latter provides, and am not very concerned with creating aesthetically pleasing scenes.
